POST NUMERO 32: November, and a 1/2 Assed Calendar

NOVEMBER!
NOVEMBER!
NOOOOOOOVEEEEMBER!!!!!!!!

Yes, Folks…it is the amazing and wonderful November!
I can’t even believe that it came so fast (and that it is almost over)…I still feel that it could be October (being 2 weeks with zero power really moved the month along…). Anyway, I am in disbelief with how quickly this month is passing…and I STILL HAVE NOT PUT UP NOVEMBER’s “MONTH POST”! (What a Jack Ass I am!)

So here it is readers:
The Thanksgiving season is upon us and just a few days from now, most US citizens will enjoy the sit down, knock out, family fun, worst travel day, eat till you burst, parade filled, first REAL day of the holiday season, and most awesome holiday of the year (somewhat sarcastic)!
People will travel to the middle of no where (once again on the worst travel day of the year), to see family they'd rather not spend an afternoon with (or in my case…3 minutes with) and make amazing mental reasons why it is ok to have 18 pieces of meat today as opposed to what a normal serving size is any other day of the year. It is the day where people eat far more than they should of some of the BEST food they've ever tasted on what is a uniquely American holiday (so to my worldly readers…to bad. so sad, Google and try out Thanksgiving…you will NOT be dissapointed)

So what to do in November and why is it SO grand:
1) Well, unfourtanelty the days are shorter (womp womp)…BUT if you do most your drinking when the sun goes down then GUESS WHAT…YOU HAVE AN EXTRA HOUR OF DARKNESS!...yeaaah plus side! So drink up everyone!
2) November is also great because it makes you realize that you made it through MOST of the year. November is the home stretch…It is a refreshing month…It is the final month to say goodbye to the year and being that December is more of a “Holiday/Festivities” month (I.M.H.O) then I recommend to you readers that you use November as your reflection month (right now I am reflecting on the fact of how I could really use a drink…and a scoop of peanut butter…)
3) The ELECTION is over…SCORE ONE FOR THAT FACT ALONE!...I don’t give a rat’s ass who won (I actually do…but I don’t talk about politics)…not because I am disinterested but because I find it a terrible topic…THE ELECTION IS OVER AND I AM EXCITED because it means no more friends (like I have any) pushing their political rants and bull crap on me when I don’t care. The countless amounts of CRAP Facebook posts I saw in the past few month have been staggering and the methods used to pour them upon people were obnoxious. It came to the point where I would log on and pray that someone uploaded a picture of their ugly kid, or an Instagram photo of a sandwich. BUT FINALLY it is over…(bring back slutty girls who post about wanting a “gentleman” but have their Facebook profile picture set to a picture of them getting motorboated by a stranger on Halloween)
4) Oh speaking of Halloween…November 1st means you survived Halloween which means you made it through those bad decisions that could have happened.
5) November is a month where it is acceptable for men NOT TO SHAVE…yes everyone…if your guy friend is growing out his stache and starting to look like as axe murderer, biker dude, or someone who might be a frequent entry on a sex offenders list…DON’T WORRY and DON’T JUDGE because it is “NO-SHAVE-NOVEMBER” also known as “Movember” (I can’t participate because I begin looking like a public threat to society after two days)
5) THE FOOD…ALL THE FREAKING GLORIOUS FOOD!!!!
6) Christmas Music Begins to play on the radio and new big budget movies start debuting.
7) THE FOOD!!!
8) It is the fruit pie month…so many fruit pies…Pumpkin Pie…BRING IT ON!

Anyway so what is November known for?
Well November has a lot to offer and is known for many things …however for now I am going to put two things that are near and dear to my heart:

November is “Peanut Butter Lovers Month”…I can’t even handle the epicness of any month that celebrates the awesomeness that is peanut butter…the legume that warms my heart and fills my stomach…as I am writing this I am currently eating a spoonful of Peanut Butter just because knowing it was peanut butter month made my mouth water! Yum!
This may or may not be my Dinner....

November is National Epilepsy Month and if you know me you will know why this is huge to me. So lets raise some awareness and do some research people. Everyone is coming down from the hype of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month but those effected with Epilepsy need some help and support also. It is a terrible thing to have and it flat out sucks. So do you research and figure out how to help! (I will probably post more on this in another post…but until then…I repeat keep it in your mind and support the cause).

Notable Days:
1 All Saint's Day
2 All Soul's Day
3 Sandwich Day
8 Cook Something Bold Day
11 Veteran's Day
17 Homemade Bread Day
17 National Adoption Day
17 World Peace Day
20 Universal Children's Day
21 False Confession Day
22 Thanksgiving - Eat, drink, and be thankful.
23 Black Friday

POST NUMERO 30.32: Excuse Me for My Length and Jeeze I am Craving...

DAMN!, JUST REALIZED HOW FREAKING LONG MY POSTS ARE GETTING (again...)…sorry…I will try and work on my length (something about this sounds dirty)…
Anyway…I lied…I said I would continue writing about “Halloween Sluttery” but I have not the mind to do it…today…DAMN!, my laziness…is overtaking me…

Oh, random,  I am trying to memorize the lyrics to a Song that has been stuck in my mind for MONTHS!...so if anyone has any tips…I would love to hear them…because listening to it on repeat and looking at the lyrics has helped me NOTHING! (If I am going to sing it...I might as well sing it correctly)

Anyway...
As I said…I will work on my length (tehee)…I will work on it realreal hard…

In true Matteo Fashion...I guess I will end this post with something random…hmmm…OH I KNOW, I AM REALLY CRAVING A KINDER SORPRESA!!!
I can't even contain myself from the awesomeness...these were my Crack growing up...

OH, one last thing (I promise)..some of you readers are finally using the Rate tool at the Bottom of every post...I would love to see some more clicks if possible...I get a lot of emails (keep them coming) but the "rate gadget" gives me a general knowledge of audience reaction in a more timely manner. for those that don't know what I am talking about...it looks like this...

POST NUMERO 26.5: Bucket List Items, and An Explanation

Bucket List Items Number 38, 43, and 44

38: Find the Perfect Volume for my Head phones so no one can hear it but it is still comfortably blasting in my ears.

43: Get into a debate with someone about which is sadder, The Abused Animal Commercials V.S. The Starving Children Commercials

44: Figure out how to eat a Granola Bar with zero crumbs falling and zero mess!
This is what I find in my lap after I eat a Nature Valley Granola Bar....ugh!

As you can see my Autumn bucket list is growing! I hope that if you made one (as per my blog post genius) that you are making progress and adding fun things everyday!

Oh and very quickly…a few posts ago I wrote about how I was trying to type Blogger posts from my IPod while at work…a lot of people emailed asking “Why do I have words next to words?” and "Why, was it all different?" Well it is because when I got home I went and reread the post using my computer and realized that auto correct had gotten its groove on with my wonderful writing. So instead of changing what I actually wrote (being that it was a very organic, half-assed, and quick trial post) I just left what I MEANT to write in parenthesis next to the auto corrected wording…anyway…whatever it was a trial…

Loving the angry Feedback! (Wouldn’t kill some of you to send a compliment…just saying)
Keep Emailing!

POST NUMERO 25: October Calendar, and a bunch of Useless Knowledge

GOOOOO PINK!!!
FIGHT THE FIGHT!!!
OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!!
TALES FROM THE BOTTOM OF A SHOT GLASS IS GOING PINK!!!!

Alright so October is a huge month filled with really important days, things, and such (and I am being only HALF sarcastic when I say that.)
Firstly, this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. Yes, ladies and gentlemen.... I do have a heart. So readers…I challenge you to do what you can and spend some time on showing you can help fight the fight! Do it for you, for someone who may have been affected by breast cancer, for their families, and for the future... DO SOMETHING!! It is so simple to give back to the cause... So NO excuses on this one...
It may not just be donating money or volunteering but just go give something back on a real human level.  Give back to someone by dropping off some food at a friend’s house. Or this one is nice…go rent some DVDs or let someone who could use some relaxation borrow your Netflix accountant. Help someone by driving them to an appointment and then just sitting around trying to help them find the crappiest mind numbing magazine in the office. Be a shoulder to cry on, be a pillar of strength, and just make a funny gift basket filled with crap that someone would like. Many women whom who have been affected and there families fall into a terrible rut so sometimes distractions are great (I have went through this first hand). Give the person something to do during treatment sessions. Think  comfortable!!
Think  awesome!!
And Give a little Bit!!
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH...GET INVOLVED WITH THE CAUSE!

What else…
When you think about the month of October do Halloween parties, costumes, and trick-or-treating come to mind? OF COURSE THEY DO, because at the end of October is Halloween…so lets start planning our costumes now…I am debating over two choices…
Hmmmmm…..So yes, October 31st is a big day for some… IT IS HALLOWEEN…I am going to make a “Sloppopotamus Post” Halloween version post…so look out for that coming up…
It is National Marigold Month (Marigold is also the Flower of October)
Columbus Day Was on October 12th. It is the Day where Italian Americans get a parade and the announcers butcher the language to crap…
PLUS OCTOBER IS ITALIAN HERITAGE MONTH! (whoop whoop)…

Then of course…some lesser known knowledge and observances of October..
October is Book Month (Go to your library…pick up a book…an actual book…find a shady spot…and read the hell out of it!)
October is Dental Hygiene Month (I freaking LOVE brushing my teeth)
October is Dessert Month (The irony of this…mixing Dental Hygiene and Dessert)
October is Fire Prevention Month (I am actually a Big fan of fire…so….not so big on the “prevention” of it...)
October is Pizza Month (WHAT WHAT!! Yum)
October is Popcorn Poppin' Month (love all popcorn…except Kettle Corn…Kettle Corn is terrible)

Anyway, Here is the calendar:

In case you are wondering...yes, that is the Devil's actual child...

ANYWAY,

POST NUMERO 33.29: Bucket List #29

So with the fall bucket list happening I decided to add this to the list:

Readers, I will let you decided which one is "Nice Guy"
29) Find a ridiculous horse…name horse “Nice Guy”…enter him in a horse race…make sure he finishes last…Laugh at the irony of how “Nice Guy finished Last”

HAHAHAHAHAHA…I crack myself up…

POST NUMERO 33: Music Video Mode

HEY READERS!
So now that it is fall I have been enjoying taking my lunch breaks outside. The weather has been perfect (aka: not hot as hell or cold as fuck).
So, where I work, my lunch break is 45 minutes long and is a nice chunk of time to just sit outside and relax. I go out onto the lawn of the school…aka the curb by my car…I take only the basics stuff which are my phone, my IPod, and my hostility (I bet half of you thought the word “vodka” would be on this list…but I AM a responsible adult sometimes…HA!) …

Anyway… the only way I can survive the daily onslaught of work is by shoving in ear buds and listening to songs that make me feel like a badass. Songs that convince me I am more powerful than the environment around me. I enjoy going off on my own because when dealing with the job I need to break away from people (especially those who kick, scream, and cry all the damn time)…So this time “away” is when I get into my “Music Video Mode”

Alright, I know readers…What the Hell is “Music Video Mode”?
Ok, “Music Video Mode” is the feeling you get when listening to music in a dramatic or inspirational setting that is reminiscent of something that could be filmed…in simple words…it feels like someone could film you and be like “wow” that looks cool… It is the sense that you get where something is dramatic and a sense of reality fades away. I get this feeling ("Music Video Mode") all the time because I have a wide selection of music that fits into numerous settings and my mind always wanders…plus I think someone has been filming me lately so…maybe I am in a music video…gulp…

Now “Music Video Mode” for me kicks in the most in two different instances:
1)      When I am running. I love “Music Video Mode” when I am running because it makes time pass by quickly and is a great distraction for when I am dying on the ground trying to breath (I am most definitely not the healthiest of people so listening to music also help past the time for the paramedic to arrive). Also “Music Video Mode” happens because I am a VERY dramatic runner. When I run, I act like a fool and air drum and jump over things and act like I am being all bad ass by running on park benches and swinging from tree branches. This also happens when I am walking or strutting my stuff haha…so it just feels very music video appropriate
2)      When I am chilling out with headphones outdoors (such as when I am on my lunch break)

This would be what my CD cover would look like...."Matteo...On a Park bench...At Night"

Anyways how to have the “Music Video Mode” sensation:
1)      Find the right music and add it to a play list…MY play list has a bunch of CRAP songs on it…bad songs…good songs…great songs…but non-the-less all the songs are ones that I love to listen to. The use of the playlist adds in NO surprise song pop ups. Think of it like this…you don’t want to have to switch six songs in order to get into your groove and ruin the moment…
2)      Find a breeze…Alright it may sound stupid but trust me…the breeze just adds in classiness. Feel the breeze rush through your hair and look into it if you want added drama and intensity.
3)      Find THAT exact point between shade and sun…ya know…that point where the shade meets the sun…for example a leafy pasture or wooded area filled with deer and other cute rodent like creatures
4)      Play with your emotions…we all have crazy ass thoughts running through our minds...driving us crazy…we all have moments like this, right? Moments when we need a hot soundtrack to get us through a tough situation, or a happy one, or that feeling of being bored off your ass? Whatever it is, it calls for the right music to make it better. Think of it as a soundtrack for your life…so put that music on anddddd….
5)      LOOK OUT INTO THE DISTANCE…look out…not at anything…Just look out into the distance and squint…It does not matter if you are looking into the sun itself…let your corneas burn! In fact with the loss of vision and the fact of how your eyes will dry out so quickly from lack of blinking your sense of hearing will heighten bringing the music video experience to life.
6)      When in doubt…dance it out…Feel free to sway and clap and shake it down…

Anyway, just as a warning…you may look like a moron to everyone else around you…but enjoy the feeling!

SO…..
LAST DAY OF SEPTEMBER EVERYONE!!!

POST NUMERO 31: Templates, and Fall Bucket Lists

So, to all those who emailed me about my blog design…Alright, I am really going to try and get some designing done on this blog! I have not done anything and everything is still so WHITE!! However…being that I am incredibly indecisive, I shift through the Blog Templates and the Free Template Sites…and I find everything is just so BLAAAAH! I want something manly, and simple. Plus the design has to get the point across that I hate everyone. Anyway, if anyone wants to teach me how the hell to work this website…it would be greatly appreciated…PLUS, Kayla is coming up with some amazing Ideas…so I would love to know how to implement them…at one point!

Also, A lot of readers have been emailing me about the photos and illustrations that have appeared in my past few posts. Ok, Let me put your minds to rest, I KNOW they suck and that there are numerous typos and inconsistencies…listen, I REALLY KNOW because I WAS THE ONE WHO MADE THEM!…but in my defense I AM making these photos on Microsoft Paint….which, after piecing together shit for hours making those back to school lists, I have come to conclusion that Microsoft Paint is a program co-designed by Satan, Hitler, and Jeffery Dahmer to inflict as much frustration as possible on a program that only does about 6 functions. It is the absolute worse…
but Microsoft paint is all I have right now…but soon Kayla (best friend art/ artistic genius) will work here fancy stuff magic and Photoshop awesomeness…

Where was I going with this…because it can’t all be about the blog…

Alright…FALL HAS BEGUN and I am already making steps to enjoy the comfortable cool weather as I spent all afternoon outside selling tomatoes (yes…on the street…outside my house…like a wierdo) …while outside I started day dreaming of stuff that I must do this fall…stuff that will add into the whole “keeping sane” during the work year goal.
So I decided to start making a fall themed bucket list of “fun” things to do during the autumn season… It is another way (If my plan goes accordingly) I will be able to make it through the fall and winter months. I will try and complete 3 things on the list per day as well as add at least 4/5 things to the list everyday (I am not going to post this shit though…no need to bore my worldly readers…but I will post the good ones!).

The Bucket list is simple enough, should not be really complicated, and the listed Items are not brain science…just SIMPLE, QUICK, and EASY ways to enjoy Autumn!

So I recommend everyone tries it…make a definition of Fall and go with that base to plan out some events. To me, Autumn screams comfort and friend time… It is just the coziest of all the seasons…I’m not sure if it’s because the season is changing, the holidays are coming closer…or because I just really like fall but
… here we go…

AUTUMN BUCKET LIST 2012:
1)  Take notice of the leaves changing color by actually going for a walk or just looking up. (DONE)
2)  Find something Pumpkin to really enjoy (perhaps some sort of Alcohol…and by “perhaps”  I mean FIND “FALL-cohal”)
1)      Carve a Pumpkin.
2)      Run to Work at least once.
3)      Set up a street side fruit/tomato stand (DONE)
4)      Go to a bon fire/ falò  (DONE)
5)      Nap outside
6)      Drink (DONE)
7)      Drink (DONE)
8)      Start dressing like a lumberjack

See, none of them are that hard what so ever…and I have already went back and checked off many of the 10 original items. (…HA!…looks like I already got a head start)

Anyway…another post coming tomorrow…should be fun!

POST NUMERO 30: Breathing, and Your Brain is Screwing You!

Alright, so I KNOW this has happened to everyone…don’t even lie readers because even if it has not…then be prepared…something horrible is about to happen…
I warn you readers…this post will make normal bodily functions feel awkward…immensely awkward…so Readers Beware

Ready:

Think about how you breath…is it slow?…is it loud?…does it make a slight whistle noise when you exhale?…Do you breath out of your mouth or your nose? How big of an inhale do you take?...Does you chest move up and down a lot, or a little?
I don’t know…but now that I have made you aware of your breathing…you can’t figure out how to get it out of your mind!
Some of you are now wondering why is your breathing “happening like that!”
Some of you might now be breathing harder or trying to slow the pace…
Some of you might just be holding your breath and panicking…
Or, some of you might do what I did…which is forget how to breath!
I am doing it right now! UGH, my mind has fallen victim to my own writing…
Alright, why am I writing about this…well, because yesterday at church I became completely aware of my breathing and I FREAKED THE FUCK OUT!

No joke…I was horrified…sure I was probably just being crazy…but I just could not stop what I thought sounded like a mixture of a Vuvuzela and a Light Breeze…

Ok, now, stop thinking about your breathing (if you can)…inhale..exhale…calm…

I was so embarrassed during the mass...I just could not control the idea of “breathing normally”…My brain had went into overdrive to screw with me and then (from what I could remember) I began to pant like a dog…then I couldn’t remember how to breath at all…(which REALLY made matters COMPLETELY worse!)
Now that I know some of you can compare or relate…what else is comparable to the “Noticing your Breathing” awkwardness?…An awkwardness syndrome caused by our brain's ability to act independently with the sole purpose of messing/screwing/fucking with us…

So here are some other examples of Brain Treachery:

The moment when you realize how you actually walk. This one is difficult because many factors come into play and can be perceived as awkward while walking. Next time you stand up take notice of such factors as: Does your walk appear to others as a constant running pace?...Does it look like your hips are running away from the rest of your body? Do you walk on a tilt or perhaps parts of your body lag behind? Do you take tiny or big strides? Do you flail? Do you swing you legs like a puppet? Are you the person who accidentally matches the pace of whoever is walking with you or accidentally creates a new pace…It is very strange…but the next time you walk…suddenly (because of your mind and perhaps this blog post) you might become aware of what your legs are doing (I love my walk…my hips are everywhere…but then again…what else is new)

Another one of my favorite examples (and by favorite I mean…one of the top examples I am horrified of) is what does your “listening face” look like.  We all have a “paying attention” face…the one we slap on in class when we are trying to look interested. Yet, few know what their face looks like when they read or if one is just standing idle…does your mouth gape open…do you squint…do you look ridiculous… Think of it…the next time you stare off into space…what does you face look like when you don’t remember your face is there. I have witnessed my own idle face on accident…it was not a good look…picture a face consisting of an “open mouth, angry wide eyes, and a whole lot of eyebrow at varying hieghts” all while still having a complete blank expression.

I just…I don’t even know…Welcome to the Way the Brain gets back at you for all those thoughts and actions you think go by the wayside…

SCREWING YOU OVER ONE THOUGHT AT A TIME!!!

Anyway...just wanted to write something...

POST NUMERO 29: Welcome September, and the New Resolution Month

Just Realized I gave No monthly welcome...what the HELL is wrong with me!
Alright, so it is September...almost October (whoops)...and it may be midway through the month already but September and I have always been indifferent and fine with each other...SO TIME TO GIVE IT AN INTRO!
In fact, September may very well be one of my favorite months…
The temperatures begins to cool…and OF COURSE happy news…the Crap Month of August is DONE!!!
This month for people of all ages is an Exciting one. It is the month that School restarts...which I have always enjoyed in small doses...more when I was a child then now...
With school restarting…I would love to find the ONE person who could honestly tell me that they did not get a SURGE of EXCITEMENT when they would receive their school schedules...and more specifically their school supplies list (I fricking loved those lists...)

However throughout my life the school supply list went from this…
I can't even tell you how much I want these right now!!

To this…
Behind the bottles are a box of crayons and a glue stick

For sports fans September starts Football, Football, Football, and MORE FOOTBALL.

Those reasons aside…I feel that September is the PERFECT time to make some true changes in your life. It is such an optimal time to make resolutions and a fall bucket list.

Readers, some of you might be scratching you head and saying, “Listen Matteo…you know that JANUARY is the resolution/change month ya stupid Bastard!!!!”
Yeah yeah yeah…I know that…but September, in my opinion, feels like a whole bigger adventure then New Years could ever be. So, I am WELL aware of how January is the month where everyone actually starts to brag about there resolutions and life changes but I am telling you readers…start them in September and they Stick!
NOW EVERYONE….ALL TOGETHER NOW…ASK…WHY?!
Alright,
1)      September is a natural redo…it is a restart month…School begins, Jobs recommence, days begin to drag on and nights begin to get cooler. It is just one of those times where you have to accept the fact of how summer is done and real life starts again. So why not start with a new mentality
2)      You begin to realize a schedule and then come to terms with the fact of how important it is to stick to it. For example…school begins and the schedule returns to a monotonous normalcy. However, along with fall comes the adventure and thrill of breaking the schedule (living on the edge)…even if it may mean dire diiiiiiiiiiire consequences.
3)      With cooler weather…comes great weather…. and with great weather comes plenty of time to kick back and relax outdoors…
4)      September can be the “resolution month” with out all the hoopla and pressure of being a “resolution month”. For example if your want to start working out more…you can fly underneath the radar and do it without anyone putting unnecessary pressure on you.
5)      Fall has a natural learning quality to it…as children we became accustomed to leaning new things after summer. We are all pre-conditioned and trained to succeed when we learn that way every year. Think of it as a habit that is hard to break. September is the perfect time to take advantage of this as after baking in the summer months…the brain can be replenished.

All Right time to talk about what to do during September and all the fun UNKNOWN days and why the month is fabulous…
So September is Self Improvement Month! It is also Classical Music month so turn down the bass and turn on the classics…wow September is also “Fall Hat Month” so reader break out your fall hats (what exactly is a fall hat…I know winter hats exist…but fall…hmmm?)… National Courtesy Month (hold a door open and show some polite and humane qualities to others you jerks)…Chicken Month…National Blueberry Popsicle Month (yum)…International Square Dancing Month (YEEEEHAAAAWW!)

Although we already miss it…
September 2nd was “National Beheading Day”
September 5th was “National Cheese Pizza Day”
September 9th was “Grandparent’s Day”

And days to Come…

September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day
September 19th is National Butterscotch Pudding Day
September 18th is National Cheeseburger Day
September 22nd is Elephant Appreciation Day
September 22nd is the beginning of Oktoberfest

Break it down now....

ANYWAY, more posts coming soon...

POST NUMERO 27: White Noise Machine

Random is my middle name...here is a quick story!

I sleep with a White Noise Machine...Why? Well I use it because of two reasons:

Reason 1) I enjoy it and find it soothing...In my opinion it is common that some noises just fall into the “relaxing category”. One of my favorite things was waiting for the Air Conditioner or for the Central Heat to turn on and I would instantly just pass out because I loved the rumble and hum of it all.

Reason 2) My family wakes up way earlier then I do...so I use the white noise to block out the Italian noise at  5o'clock in the morning. My family would and could never qualify as "quiet"... in fact when they try to be quiet it just...becomes worse...so...sooooooo...much worse.
(Secret Reason 3: It blocks out the other voices in my head…)

So the White Noise machine I use is an APP (which will remain nameless) for my IPOD...
It took a long time but I have found the perfect three sounds that when played in unison make a VERY convincing "rain on roof" sound that just makes me sleep soundly (I think most people enjoy the sound of rain)...how fairly ordinary...
However, the other night I must have accidently rolled over on top of the IPOD or accidently hit it with my hand because I switched it from my harmonious  “rain on roof sound” to a sound described as “chatter”. Now, “chatter” is literally the sound of many people talking in whispers and hushed voices. These hushed voices and whispers can most definitely be perceived as evil hissing and maniacal chanting.
All chattering conversations are different and some are more understandable then others. The conversation that is the clearest is about the weather and the ones you can not understand sound like people chanting out their grocery lists.
Anyway, back to the story…in full “groggy hallucinating sleep mode” I began to realize the change in sound settings. When I was conscious enough to hear the voices I panicked thinking my room was filled with STRANGERS having trivial discussion!
Just imagine it as waking up to the voices of people whispering about meaningless and harmless topics in the darkest corner of your bedroom...spooky right?
WHO THE HELL, finds it pleasant and comforting to fall asleep with the sound of strangers whispering about random topics!?!
(Readers, when I say “whispering”, I repeat,  it is not in a pleasant way…the sound machine “chatter” sounds flat out angry and crazy…picture it as the voices of 20 highly dangerous criminals plotting a bloody and violent escape from prison while trying to not have the guards over hear them)

However I looked at some of the other sounds on the White Noise Machine and I don't understand WHO would EVER be soothed or able to sleep with such horrific noises as:

Branches: Ok, Branches, as a soothing noise, I think should sound like a soft wind rustling through the branches of a tree and making the romantic and soothing "swooshing sound" as the leaves rustle. INSTEAD, Branches sounds like a VERY VIOLENT act of deforestation.

Music Box: I understand that some music boxes have very lovely song choices (I own one that plays the theme from titanic)…but I am a baffled about who could EVER fall asleep while a very HIGH PITCHED and slow version of  “Pop Goes the Weasel” plays again…and again…and again…

Garden: BEES! BEES EVERYWHERE!!!!

Crickets: Ok this one should be renamed “Cricket” because there is only one…just one single cricking chirping…UNLESS (and this just popped into my mind) maybe it is NUMEROUS crickets all chirping at once…deceptive crickets….
I Google Search cricket....here is a picture of a puppy!
Whisper: Remember in grade school when you friend tried to pass you a note in class and to get your attention….he would go PSSSSSSSH!!! PSSSSSSSSSSSH!!! That is whisper…loud…high pitched…annoying

Anyway…this was a random post…more coming soon!
Happy Casual Wednesday!
Happy Hump Day!

POST NUMERO 24: Sparklers and Shower Drinking!

Firstly, Happy belated birthday America!!  It was a fun family filled day followed by best friend Kayla coming over at night with SPARKLERS!!! I had a major Sparkler craving for weeks and it was all I wanted for that day…sparklers…I love…sparklers…the way they sparkle…the fire!...I wish I had more…but anyway HAPPY BELATED 4th OF JULY!!!

So, I realized today when looking at my blog that the ads around my words of wisdom (excuse me…let me rephrase...my GENIUS, FUNNY, TERRIFIC, POETIC, WONDERFUL, AND INSPIRING words of wisdom) all have to do with “Alcohol Rehab”. Every single one is about substance abuse… very interesting…so for the next few posts I am going to be trying some new and random posts to see if I can change the ads…or randomly throw in something to see if I can really switch up the ads. Not that I am against the ads…seek assistance if you feel so…I just feel somewhat “kill-joyed” by these adds…especially when I look on other blogs and they have such awesome colorful stuff (although nothing beats the first ad that appeared on my blog for “COCK” the musical)

Secondly, Happy Anniversy Torre Parents!!! 26 Years and still Arguing like typical Italians…I would list a bunch of sappy and beautiful things here but I fell down the stairs earlier when I went to say “Happy Anniversy” to them…so the bruise on my ankle is dedication enough.

Thirdly, Happy Birthday Shelly!!!! Even though it was numerous day ago you are an awesome person and I would list a bunch of stuff about you but I am not going to.

Fourthly, Happy Graduation Jackie!! Just had to say it again!

Ok anyway, 2 great things…2 very amazing great awesome things…Cleanliness…and Drunkeness. I love to be clean. I love to clean. I love to smell nice. I love to drink my drink and drank my drank. Put the two together and you have…DRINKING IN THE SHOWER!
Now readers, I know some of your might have gasped and said…”ALCOHOLISM!” but I am telling you now…try it…it is amazing!  The first time I tried it was in my junior year in college…changed my life forever. The coolness of the drink…the cleaning factor of the shower…the warm cascade of water. Two of my favorite things occuring in unision…cleanliness and drunkenness

OK, so how to succeed in “Shower Drinking” relies on some very basic steps and rules
Number 1) Try to avoid glass and stick with cans…duh… It took a somewhat long time for me to move onto mixed drinks by bringing in the cocktail shaker into the shower and successfully make a drink…I am kidding…but it did take a long time to move onto mixed drinks.  It is hard to keep water and soap out of the drink and still act calm and collected when exfoliating and re-shampooing. It was nice…take a sip…put it down…no fuss. Also avoid glass for the sheer purpose of how it might be hard to explain to people how you stepped on glass when kicking back a few in the shower. My main choice for shower drinking is an old fashioned classic Budweiser in a can (also known to me as “Hillbilly” beer…but I will write about that in another post). Yes, with the canned Budweiser It was great because I knew if I dropped it at least I would not end up in the emergency room.
Number 2) Always remember which hand has the drink..and which one has the soap. You never want to mix up the two…In the delight that is shower drinking you may become completely and totally calm and end up taking a big chug of conditioner (but don’t worry bottles of soap normally come with Poison Control’s number on the back of the label)
Number 3) Do not be a shower Sloppopotamus!!! This is just a calming thing…it is great when done in a relaxed manner, a shower is supposed to be relaxing so keep it calm…not a frat party!
Number 4) Soap does not taste good so drink with care
Number 5) Soap is slippery…CAUTION as sometimes drinking may cause a slippery sensation…the two together might end up in a VERY slippery situation

And finally

Number 6) Enjoy the moment.

POST NUMERO 23.5: Hello July and Hello Nude Recreation Week

I forgot to say!
HELLLOOOOO JULY!!!!!!!

It is finally July…which now that I am part of the education system…I am sad about being that everyday and month brings me closer to September again. Anyway, July is a terrific month…why?...well let me tell you…
Ok so not only is July famous for numerous patriotic reasons but it is also:
-National Anti-Boredom Month!
-National Blueberry Month!
-National Hot Dog Month!
-National Ice Cream Month!

I mean come on…I should just stop my list right there…a month dedicated to some of life’s best food…and a month dedicated to combating one of the worst things possible, BOREDOM…but I am going to keep going with this list of “July”-awesomeness because  it gets soooo muuuuch better…

The entire second week of July is…and be prepared for what I am about to say…is Nude Recreation Week!! YES,  that is correct…a week dedicated to NUDE RECREATION!!! Yes…nude volleyball, nude bull fighting, nude running, nude trampoline, nude swimming, nude fencing, nude wood working and tree house building, nude rhythmic gymnastics, nude recreational drinking…for a week you can rock out with your junk out and celebrate because it is 7 days of celebrating nude recreation…I don’t think I can even figure out how to phrase and put into words the awesomeness of this week…

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK!...THIS IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE!!

Also it is Cell Phone Courtesy Month…which means…the next time you see someone like this....

"I don't understand why EVERYONE is looking at me?!?!...."

Scream out, "QUIT DISRESPECTING JULY!!!” and then punch them in the throat…

Anyway…more posts coming soon
Welcome July everyone!

POST NUMERO 22: HE-double hockey sticks, and thundering f__ks

So I was trying to fit this in as a third “Sunday-Funday” post… but this has turned into a Monday night post…but eh…it happens…but guess what…it is now become a Tuesday night post…
So today I was listening to the radio and one of my new favorite songs came on, Payphone by Maroon 5…now I am a huge fan of the band and they are high on my list of people I would love to meet in real life and hang out with. So as I am listening to the song and I am hearing these awkward gaps in the lyrics…everything was rhyming…everything seemed to be going smoothly…but something was missing…as I sat and listened through the song concentrating hard on the lyrics and swerving all over the road…I realized the song was being censored…so when I got home…I decided to delve into the YouTube world and listen to the “uncensored version”…and wowza…I LOVE ME SOME PROFANITY!
I love when people use “bad language” and curse in normal conversation and I love when I hear it in music. I for one try to keep my vocabulary as cuss free, proper, and clean as possible (everyone reading this who ACTUALLY knows me, probably just rolled their eyes) but I can’t help but drop a few f-bombs from time to time.
I did not start using “bad language” until around 7th grade and even then I felt like cursing was the equivalent of setting something on fire or grand theft auto. I would go about my day saying words like “narf”, “dang”, and the ever stupid “fudge”.
My first time cursing in public was when I was reading a story out loud in 6th grade and in the reading was the word HELL (dun dun dunnnnn). I was so scared by the word and the possible repercussions of saying it that I (to save the virgin ears of the other students and my teacher) pronounced the word hell as “H-E- double hockey sticks” and when my teacher said it was ok to say “it” I remember feeling like someone had just punched me in the stomach and the class gasp. It was traumatizing and I will remember it to this day…the giggling still haunts me every time I close my eyes…

...just saying it makes me feel dirty....

Anyway, I know that some people grew up with cursing…but I seriously grew up with the idea that bad words were a direct way to get hit with a wooden spoon (crazy Italians)…in fact now that I look back on my childhood…my parents actually cursed a lot…just not in English…
In honesty…I am sure some folks can remember when they actually heard their first "f__k" or "s_it." I even remember when my brother, Silvio, started using curse words (it was during a baseball game…he was pitching…and cursing A LOT…The Torre family took T-ball very seriously)

Anyway, sometimes I feel like there is a need for a good “curse”…for example…
If something drops on your foot…curse
If someone cuts your off while driving…curse
Your friend becomes a Sloppopotamus…curse
You become a Sloppopotamus…curse
You wake up from a coma…curse
Papercut…curse
Curse…curse…curse…curse

I however get extreme satisfaction when certain people curse and the methods of there verbal dirtiness
For example…I have an uncle who starts every conversation with “OH SHIT!” …it could be the most innocent of conversations…but every line starts with “OH SHIT!”:

Uncle Torre: OH SHIT, Did you see what your aunt made for dinner?
Matteo/Me: Yes Uncle Torre
Uncle Torre: OH SHIT, Doesn’t it look good?…OH SHIT. You know why she made it?…because OH SHIT!, she loves you!!.

My father’s favorite curse: “Sonna-bitch-an-bastard”
say it really fast and combine everyword…he uses it for everything…

I feel also to lighten up and add some new punch into curse words (as well as some good practice for the SATs) is to add some sort of colorful adjective before hand…my adjective of choice is: “thundering”
Examples
She can be a real "thundering b-tch" when she is angry!

I just really enjoy the idea of cursing…I forgot what movie or show I was watching once where it talked about how, “truly, there are so few words in the English language…so we might as well you them all”.
So what makes swear words so “taboo” and what makes people feel uncomfortable when using them? I have no idea…
I will post more soon!

POST NUMERO 19: I Jumped, and Drank

Sometimes you just live on the edge and do things you never would…Readers, a few nights ago I had one of those “live on the edge” type of moments…I was so far on the edge that my inner dialogue was going on full rant and questioning every second of what was happening…it was like I was possessed!.
After reading that ^^^….you should all be on the edge of your seats!!...but believe me readers it was nothing “big”! (actually screw that...for me it was monumental)

So on Memorial Day after completing the family BBQ I was invited over a friend’s house for a relaxing evening. These friends are amazing people, and some of the best I know. It is amazing how kind and generous they are and how amazing this group of friends is…Anyway…back to the story...

It was an amazingly fun Memorial Day. I started off the day with sleeping in and a nice bit of relaxing while surfing the Internet for blog ideas. I had a pear for breakfast…while eating that pear I marveled at how amazingly wonderful it was for it to be a Monday and not be at work. I dusted my room, cleaned out my car, and put away general crap…I then ate another piece of fruit (another pear). I prepared many things for the family BBQ including various chips and dips and also normal BBQ food (hamburgers, marinated chicken, and hotdogs)…Then family came over and we did a very normal family BBQ…nothing exciting…very cookie cutter…very Italian…very there…annnnd then I snapped slightly from the wholesome family goodness.

Don't get me wrong...as I have said in past posts I really do love my family...but I had hit my boiling point. I needed to get out of the house! So after dinner was over I was in need of something exciting…that is when the magic happened and I received a call from friends (those mentioned above) inviting me over for ANOTHER BBQ!...Miracles do occur!!!

So I went!
WOWZA DID I HAVE FUN!
I LIVED ON THE EDGE!
and
I TURNED INTO A BEER DRINKER! (I put away the vodka for the evening and jumped right into the Becks)...It was just "good livin".
So…big news…and the somewhat point of this post...I had a “living on the edge” moment…I FREAKING JUMPED INTO THE POOL!!!! I WAS IN THE POOL!!! I, MATTEO TORRE, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR, THAT I LITERALLY JUMPED INTO THE POOL AS A CHALLENGE... WHEN NO ONE WAS IN THE POOL!!!
…ok readers you probably just rolled your eyes…but this is huge for me…I am never ever that type of person…I always make a horrible excuse and chicken out…I am just kind of not “that person” who accepts challenges like that… I was soooo proud of myself!...I stripped off my shirt...and jumped...it was all very unexpected of me...I have to admit...I was a very cool person!
HOWEVER DOWN SIDE!!!!!!!
in fact, let me rephrase
DOOOOOOOWNSIDE FROM HELL!!! Shortly after I jumped in I came to the realization that I had jumped into a very unshocked, uncleaned, and dirty pool. The pool had only recently been uncovered (about 4 minutes before I took the plunge)...so... IMPETIGO and DISEASE here I come!
I did do it however! so instead of rolling your eyes readers...Applaud me! Scream out HOORAY MATTEO!!!...AUGURI MATTEO!!!...BRAVO!!!...or just keep on reading my next few posts...which ever one works!

ANYWAY!, I know readers…I promise things and do not deliver…I have been mega busy…I have stories on the way and a bunch of half finished blog posts that I will try and put up over the weekend…School is almost out for summer!...HOORAY!!!

CHEERS, SALUTE, CHIN CHIN!

POST NUMERO 15: Aunt Oona, Congratulations Silvio and Surviving the Ceremony

This Post Seems long...but it is mostly empty space and pictures...enjoy!
Ok, firstly…although it happened a few days ago…Rest In Peace the Lovely Donna Summer (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012). You were an amazing talent and you will be missed greatly. Your music was incredibly upbeat, catchy, fun, and completely awesome.  You were the inspiration for many one person basement funky disco dance parties. Not to mention…if anyone does not remember the Family Matters episode where Donna Summer  plays “Aunt Oona from Altoona” I recommend you try and find it on YouTube or catch it online…she was hilarious and her character still makes me laugh! (Aunt Oona from Altoona…sigh…the perfect use for a fat suit)

Aunt Oona...from Altoona!
Secondly, I need to apologize readers…I know I have not posted in the longest time…it might be five days now…but my plummeting number of readers and people unsubscribing is punishment enough…but don’t worry I have good reasons for my absence so come back to me readers!
Firstly…holy crap, have I been sick with the weirdest-nothing-none-symptom-filled with symptoms type of illness…yes…I was sick…felt sick…body ached…fever…but nothing else. Then the cough came and I have not slept…and then I went to the doctor and the doctor started feeling my spleen and stuff and saying stuff about my spleen…and then I got bit…and my arms are injured and GOSH…long freaking story short…I have been sick! I am however on TONS of meds…a whole SACK load…and with this SACK OF MEDS I feel much better!
Thirdly, CONGRATULATIONS TO MY BROTHER SILVIO TORRE!!!!! Silvio Torre, not his real name, graduated with highest honors from Medical School and I announce it to you internet…DR. SILVIO TORRE will be THE BEST DOCTOR EVER!  So my life has been consumed with dedication and praise to him and it has left little time for typing up my rants. This dedication to my brother involves planning a party and buying a gift and trying to ration my clothes so he can look nice and I don’t look better then him at the graduation ceremonies (it happens sometimes…we have argued…he was tired of people wondering who was older so I kinda have to dress “younger” then him…it never works)
Fourthly, let me repeat…CONGRATS TO MY BROTHER DOCTOR SILVIO TORRE!!!!
AUGURI SILVIO!!!
AUGURI DOTTORE!!!

Fifthly, I have just been tired…I pass out at night midway though a post ranting about whatever.

Ok, so that is just the short list of reasons of why I have been a "jackass" and have not written on here in a relatively long time (especially after conveying time and time again the dedication that I would give to this site). However, rest assured readers, over the weekend I did not do much that is of any interest to write about…

Anyway, the Torre family never has parties (we stopped celebrating birthdays when I turned ten) or really goes out into public so planning something in an actual restaurant has been one of those “hellish Italian ordeal” type of things.  For example, last night my mother got an overwhelming sense of guilt that she was not cooking anything for graduation day and ended up making a practice pork roast…we then all ended up screaming about the practice/safety blanket pork roast...
I said I would pay for the party as a gift to my brother (this also means I get to keep the watch I bought for him originally…ehhhhh)

I really am sooooo amazed at my brother’s achievements…him and I are polar opposites while still being mirror images of each other. He was the “Sporty, Smart, Quiet, and Brilliant” one, and I was the “Conartist, Street Smart, and Quick Witted” one.  Ask around town and people still don’t know that there is actually two Torre boys...for years people thought we were the same person…
A few “normal” conversations when my brother and I are introduced to people:
Parents: Do you remember our sons Silvio and Matteo?
Parent’s Friend: WAIT, you have two sons?!?!
Or the ever classic,
Parents: This is our son Matteo…
Parent’s friend of about 10 years: Wait, who is Matteo?...I thought you had one son…

BUT THIS IS HIS WEEK (hooray)…and next week will be his week (hooray)…and probably the week after that (hooray)…but gotta love him…plus the coming days involve Costco cake!

Anyway, So while sitting through the graduation today I realized one of two things.
1)      I am going to go back to school and earn something important!!
2)      I want to give a awe inspiring speech to a group of teenagers or college kids at a graduation!
Two achievable goals that I am adding to the bucket list!

Alright, so the Torre Brothers have always had the woooorst graduation days ever. We have never had a beautiful day EVER for any of our graduations

So readers, I present to you the...::drum role::

Graduation Crap Day Score Card:
>>>>Silvio’s Graduation Score Card:
  • 5th Grade Graduation- Sunny during the morning which gave hope, then thunder stormed with heavy rain
  • 8th Grade Graduation- Thunder stormed with a Bolt Lightening warning
  • High School Graduation- Rained all day…stopped for half the ceremony…then continued when everyone put their guard down
  • College Graduation- TROPICAL STORM/ HURRICANE…lights went out knocking out the Air Conditioning…ceremony had to be moved into an abandoned basement…streets flooded…water everywhere
  • Medical School Graduation- Rain Rain everywhere…
Total score: 0/5

>>>>Matteo’s Graduation Score Card:
  • 5th Grade Graduation- Extreme Heat advisory, then it began to storm…so much lightning and thunder
  • 8th Grade Graduation- Extremely Hot and Extremely wet…it then became immensely dark and rained for 3 days
  • High School Graduation- OMG this could be the best one yet, First it rained…and they began moving everyone from the outdoor ceremony into the indoor gym where they were not allowing the elderly due to EXTREME HEAT. Then it stopped raining and the ceremony was once again moved outdoors again…Then a bolt of lightning shorted out the sound system and no one knew what was going on and we had no mircophones…then as soon as they called my name to go up and get my diploma…IT BEGAN TO FUCKING RAIN AND HAIL!!! ALMOND SIZED HAIL! BOTH AT THE SAME TIME…IT RAINED and HAILED! IT “RAILED”!!
  • College Graduation- Rain…Rain…Thunder…Lightening...Moist-ness
Total Score: 0/4

As you can see Mother Nature raised that bar high…however being that I am going back to school I have no high expectations for a any future Graduations.

Ok Last thing…Here are some Graduation Tips:
1)      No one looks good in the hat…
2)      Before Commencement and during the ceremony the tassley thing is worn on the right side of the hat, then flipped to the left…anyone that says otherwise is a Liar!
3)      It is perfectly acceptable to pretend to be a wizard…
4)      No one truly sees what is going on with your legs…the graduation gown is long…plan pants accordingly…ALSO it is like wearing a blanket…it will get hot…dress accordingly.
5)      Make friends with your neighbors. Having conversations and pointing out all the funny names you are bound to hear will make the experience more bearable.
6)      If you get your gown a day before or so…take pictures at home…make a mock set up…I kept losing my brother today in the sea of everyone wearing the same thing.
7)      Graduations have long speeches and a lot of walking. And while that is all well and good, you will be bored for the entire ceremony, excluding 10 seconds you are on stage.
8)      If you want to waste a good chunk of time, search for your family in the crowd. It’s like “Where’s Waldo”!

WELL BACK TO THE CELEBRATION!!
CHEERS, SALUTE, CHIN CHIN!!!
